Patience and opportunity are at the heart of doing photography.  Sometimes being prepared makes the difference.  Here I had about five minutes to capture the light that fell upon the boats as the rainbow emerged.  Using the Canon Powershot G9, which was there in my hands, not in my camera backpack, I was able to stop that magical moment in time.

And, BTW, this image prints very well at large sizes.  I have a 3 foot by 2 foot print in my den that is awesome.  Who says that a point and shoot camera is worthless for good photography?
