Yesterday I went to see Avatar.  Oh my gosh what a fantastic movie.  I left the theater nearly in tears, having been overwhelmed with the imagery and the story.

And this morning I thought about it, especially its theme and its message.

It is the idea of Gaia, one which has been with me for many years:  all that is — one living thing.

And this morning I am asking myself:  “I don’t know why?”

Meaning, why are we destroying the earth?

And I ask myself even more, what can I do about it?  I feel so powerless, sitting here watching what is happening in my world.  I tire of those who say “no.”  And I wonder why we can’t say “yes.”
